Experimental music.
Since the age of 16, I have been working on music in some shape or form. I started using applications like Dance Ejay in the late 90’s and moved up to Fruityloops and then Reason shortly after. Since that time,
I have delved into many other DAWs and also have dabbled in many different styles of music with many many collaborators. I am proud of all of my work and I am still actively producing today. None of these projects ever made it past the fun conceptual stages. This is mainly because I found those parts of the process to be the most fun and meaningful to me. Making art that has no point, except as a form of expression.Â
Below I have expanded on all the different musical experiments (that I can recall).Â
DCM Corp (2007)
Production, Vocals, writing
Originally conceived as a concept project alongside my production partner, Brendan Sutton, we had this idea for making an album all about life in the future where machines and artificial intelligence have replaced the concept of love and relationships for both men and women. Almost like a more comedic Animatrix story told through song. We never completed the project but the subject matter is still relevant years later.Â
Glory Hunters (2011)
Production, Vocals, writing
A long time production partner of mine James Dunne came back into my life around 2010 and we instantly began working on music together. The music was a fusion of things that we liked, some of which we aligned on and some we didn’t. I consider “At the end” to be one of the best songs I have ever been involved in making and I am super proud of every track James and I worked on together, some of which I still cannot find.
the conformist (2007-2014)
Production, Vocals, writing
So at this time I was going through a bit of a Nitzer Ebb phase, making dark music which I suppose was representative of my mood at the time. Most of these songs were made around 2012-14, I did put together a live set of the music, but sadly I never got to perform any of it. There are some practice videos somewhere that I may locate at a later time. Some of the songs are unfinished as they were never really intended for release, but were created just for the live show aspect.
Hugh people (2008-2011)
Production, Vocals, writing
Towards the end of the Sourcecode project I began experimenting again with a more big room electronic sound. Artists like Calvin Harris, Daft Punk , Justice were big at the time, that obviously had an influence on the styles of the music. None of it was ever released , mostly because I never really liked my voice in any of the vocal tracks and unknown to me at the time, I just never wanted to become a professional music artist. I enjoy the process and the result and listening back to my own creations, which is enough.
OST Music (2011-2015)
Production, Vocals, writing
I am a big fan of musical soundtracks and the varied styles that go with it. Over the years I produced a large number or sounds while experimenting with different sounds and textures. While at Nightmaker I had access to so many synths and outboard toys that I had so much fun making music meant for nothing. I find myself listening to this music when working a lot.
